I make no secret of the fact that I love this time of year. What makes me love it even more, is how much my boys love it too. As a family, it’s definitely the most exciting time for us.
This week’s wishlist is all about the fun activities I want to do with my boys. From fun freebies (or as close to free as possible) to some ideas that cost a little bit of money, I’m summarising my top 5 must-do Aumtumn/Winter activities.
I used to love Halloween for the dressing up and drinking games, but now I love it for totally different reasons! It’s back to bobbing for apples and trick or treating amongst the family. It’s all about Noah’s costume (borrowed or homemade for us… It’s more fun) and the spooky stories and sour sweets! Noah loves Halloween as much as I do too, luckily!
Autumn Nature Walks
Crispy leaves and a nip in the air! Puddles to jump in and conkers to find. There’s so much fun to be had on a simple nature walk. Noah loves collecting leaves and pointing out all of the wonderful changes that are occurring. We’re lucky to live in a place where natural beauty is on our doorstep or a short drive away in the Lake District.
On November 5th 2002 I followed a lad I fancied to a bonfire party at a local pub… We’ve spent every Bonfire Night together since! Now we have our beautiful little boy and our own traditions. We go to a local restaurant for tea and drive around watching the fireworks in our town. We always end the night by having our own fireworks and sparklers at home. It’s nothing big, and not too expensive, but it’s our own tradition and something we love to do as a family.
Windermere German Christmas Markets
On 10th and 11th December 2016 the German Markets are going to Windermere.

The Christmas Build up
From Noah’s house elf, Bauble, arriving in November, to putting up the tree, Williamsons love Christmas! Every last second of it. The build up is almost as fun as the day, and I love all of the fun activities that come with it. Pantomimes, Carol Services, visits to Santa… The whole shebang!
