Well, well, well! Here I come. Head in hands. Apology at the ready. I have neglected my blog for months and the only real excuse is that I became lazy. Lazy and preoccupied.
I essentially started a new job at a new school in September. It’s been an extremely busy and stressful time. I’ve enjoyed the challenge but neglected all other aspects of my life (not the wife and mother aspects- the looking after myself and doing what I enjoy aspects). It’s been tough at times; true to my weak-willed self I slipped right off the food wagon and put on all of the weight I had lost. I stopped going to the gym in November and haven’t been brave enough to go back. I just feel like I need to publicly kick myself up the arse and get back into my blog. I don’t care if I’m writing to the empty internet abyss, blogging puts me in my happy place.
So, where am I in life at the minute? I’m getting balance back in my life. Noah has started school and is loving it. He’s thriving and behaving wonderfully, which has eased a lot of my anxieties. Work is more manageable and I’m loving being part time. I’ve signed up for some fun runs and plan on getting ready for these by starting back on an exercise programme. Swimming, walking, running and the gym. I was over doing it during summer and as a result I’m in physio! I’m moderating my booze and we’ve cut out take aways- we’d got to the point where we were having a take out twice a week. Essentially I had lost control. I’ve got it back; I’ve got a plan and a goal to work towards! Slow and steady will win this race. And I will find a work-life balance!
My blog is not going to focus as much on the diet/gym any more. That’s going to be a part of my life that’s only for me, otherwise I feel too much pressure! I’ll still review products, write about fashion, health and beauty, and generally talk about how fabulous it is to be in my 30s and in happy in my own skin.
This post is short and sweet and just a little catch up. Expect more in good time!
But for now, I’m going to have my last cuppa of the day, and return to another of my favourite things… Grey’s Anatomy!
